Free DVDs

freedvd.jpgLooking for some fantastic freebies like the rest of us?

Have no fear, no “fill out thirty-thousand sponsors to win this mac book pro” gimicks here. My good friends at College Humor have a slightly different idea in mind: Leg-Guitar Thrash-Off.

The first 20 contestants to send a picture of themselves thrashing on their leg like a double-necked Gibson to OhManOfCourse IWantAFreeDVD@Gmail.com will win a copy of Reno 911!: Miami on DVD. If you like the show, you’ll love the movie. And if you love the movie, you’ll really love the DVD. So lift those thighs and start strumming.

Enjoy!

Search K-Fed Style

k-fedgooglesmall.JPGYour favorite trash celebrity, Kevin Federline has done it all. From text-messaging plans, to tacos… he’s got your gimmicky marketing covered. Who would have thought that this wash up would make it? In fact… he’s looking to be the better parent after Britney’s no-panties tour ending at Promises.

The wit-filled celebrity gossips at Best Week Ever said:

Search With Kevin Marketing Campaign allowing you to search for things on the Internet as you would using Google, but with K-Fed’s stupid face staring at you while doing so. Pretty awesome, right. We still think Gizoogle is a much better “white people who talk black” searching solution, but we’ll admit that it’s pretty funny when you do a “Kevin Federline, Douchebag” search (sadly, BWE.tv doesn’t show up on the first page of results).

Super Bowl Sunday

For those of us who are more interested in the time in between the game, here is a collection of all the Super Bowl commercials.

Laugh away!

My favorite so far:

South Park Honors Monty Python

If you weren’t already aware, I’m a pretty big Monty Python fan. Well… more than big… maybe “huge” describes it. I own every season of Flying Circus on DVD and nearly every movie they’ve made. Our family has seen Spamalot and loved it… we even bought “the coconuts“.

So, when I found this South Park tribute to Flying Circus on YouTube, I just couldn’t help but love it. I hope every fellow Monty Python fan loves this reenactment of the Parrot sketch as much as I did. Watch Kenny pining for the fjords:

Of course no one can beat the original. Watch it after the jump. Keep reading this »

Orlando Bloom takes on Johnny Depp

Here’s a little Orlando dreaminess for you. This scene is from a show in which Orlando plays himself:

Extras starring Ricky Gervais premieres tonight at 10pm on HBO. Orlando Bloom guest stars as himself in the premiere episode of season two. Ricky plays a man that while trying to get his big break works as a background extra on films and TV shows. He comes face to face with big stars. The show also stars the hilarious Ashley Jensen of Ugly Betty as Ricky’s friend and fellow extra.

Story found on Dlisted.

50 Worst Musicians of All Time

vanilla_ice0.jpgBlender featured a story declaring the “The 50 Worst Artists in Music History.” Among the list were:
#47 GOO GOO DOLLS (”Mediocre band, woeful balladeers”)
#37 THE DOORS (”He was the Lizard King. No, really…”)
#36 98 DEGREES (”Well their mothers must love them”)
#23 CREED (”Whoever said the devil has all the best tunes was probably listening to Creed at the time”)
#15 YANNI (”Fabio meets Tesh!”)
#13 MICK JAGGER (”Even Bill Wyman laughs at Mick’s solo records”)
#11 LATOYA JACKSON (”The least talented Jackson”)
Some artists we ALL must agree were truly terrible included:

#8 VANILLA ICE (His real name is Robert Van Winkle *giggle giggle*)
The white boy to end all white boys

You know that yearbook photograph you won’t let anyone see? The one whose very existence keeps you awake shaking at night? Imagine it was a horribly dated number 1 single from 1990 called “Ice Ice Baby,” and you have an idea what life is like for Robert Van Winkle. It doesn’t stop there: Ice starred in the abysmal 1991 Hollywood vehicle Cool as Ice, and after squandering his quick fortune, mounted an unsuccessful comeback in 1998 as (shudder) a rap-rocker.

One more reason to hate the French?

Seemingly hellbent from birth on proving that Michael Bolton isn’t the cheesiest balladeer on the face of the planet, the French-Canadian singer first secured a manager at age 12 — creepily, she later married him. But far more terrifying is her endless string of shrieking über-hits, particularly the Titanic theme, “My Heart Will Go On” — which, if it had been played on the ship itself, would surely have made passengers leap to their doom long before the iceberg did its dastardly deed.

I have to say I agree with most points. And if you were wondering “Insane Clown Posse” made the top of the list. “They sound even stupider than they look.”

Disagree? Maybe Blender just doesn’t understand the true classics… or maybe you just like really really bad music.

The Face Behind Borat

borat.jpgFrom MovieFone.com: In ‘BORAT’ Sacha Baron Cohen – star of HBO’s hit comedy “Da Ali G Show,” takes his outrageous Kazakhstani reporter character Borat to the big screen. In this hilariously offensive movie, Borat travels from his primitive home in Kazakhstan to the U.S. to make a documentary. On his cross-country road-trip, Borat meets real people in real situations with hysterical consequences.”

The first four minutes of the film are here:

Hilarious.

update: Borat has managed to get in a lot of trouble. Besides being anti-semetic, Sasha Cohen has upset the Carpathians and the people of Kazakhstan too.

We Want: How to NOT GET Divorced, Right?

faithhill.pngFaith Hill dons the issue of Glamour magazine this month. All personal situations concerning Faith Hill aside, shouldn’t we be talking on how to not get divorced…. instead of better ways to do it in “helpful” women’s magazines like this one? I can see the feminazi infiltration now: “Now girls, you’ll want to make sure that when you’re done with your first husband and want to move onto your second make sure you don’t…”

Remember Ken Jennings?

TMZ.com eloquently puts it:
Ken Jennings, record Jeopardy winner. “Jeopardy” Champ Didn’t Spend Money on “Coke or Hookers”

Ken Jennings won a record $2.5 million dollars when he appeared on “Jeopardy” a record 75 times. As expected, the man hasn’t blown the millions like your average million-dollar lottery winner. In a report with USA Today, Jennings stated he didn’t want to become a sad story of “Where are they now?” That would be totally ironic, right? You thought he was smart on ‘Jeopardy,’ but then he spent all his money on coke or hookers or whatever,” explains Jennings.

The trivia master has in fact capitalized on his wins and has just released a new book containing endless amounts of trivia. Jennings is corrently in the works with NBC to create his own game show entitled, “1 vs. 100,” hosted by Bob Saget, to air this fall. The show will consist of 100 players versus Jennings.
