Another review for everyone…
Eisley’s sound is a an enchanting mix of angelic Indie Rock/Pop with a comic tone to many of their songs. Eisley’s story is one of a dream come true: After forming 10 years ago and remaining a relatively unknown band, the group of three sisters Stacy Dupree, 17; Sherri Dupree, 23; and Chauntelle Dupree, 25; their brother, Weston Dupree, 19; and a friend, Jon Wilson struck some luck. The quintet released a pair of stunning, dreamy rock EPs in 2003 which fell into the hands of Cold Play and Snow Patrol… bands they’d be heading within the next year.
A few sample songs from Eisley’s myspace and you’ll fall in love quickly. Golly Sandra starts out in a tone set for a Hawaiin luau, yet the song flows into a dreamy setting. Head Against the Sky provides a more somber tone, the story of a presumably an older sibling singing to a young brother or sister.
If you like such bands as Rilo Kiley, and the tone of Jenny Lewis, you’ll definitely enjoy Eisley.

From Laughing City:
follow me down to the laughing city
with people changing all their minds
it’s crazy
i want this ma’am, that ma’am, no sir
yes ma’am, that sir
well i’ll tell you one thing, if you’re keeping something
then hold on, hold on to the ones you love
hold on, hold on to the ones you love
From Tree Tops:
when i was a young girl
trying to find her way above the tree tops, the tree tops, the tree tops
when i was a young girl
trying to find her way above the tree tops, the tree tops, the tree tops
i did not care, i did not care
what they called me, what they called me
i’ll float above the ocean
the sun above is burning my head
i will grow wings and fly everywhere
So I’ve decided to start another “little section” of this blog (lets hope this one is more successful than my first plan.) I call it “Did you know…” Each week (or more like when I get around to it) I will feature some interesting fact or feature from the INTERWEB. Basically I decided to start this because I wanted to tell you about just this…
So you think iTunes is just an expensive tool for downloading over-priced media from Apple? Think again. Itunes features hundreds of free radio stations, all top quality because they’re not actually “radio” … they’re streamed over the internet. If your getting sick of some of the same playlists you run when your working at your desk or computer, check out the ambient section to chill out while you work. There are “Top Hits” stations, stations featuring music from the big band era, and even comedy stations. The best thing is there are usually many stations that rarely play commercials, and there is always a fresh new rotation of songs for you to listen to for FREE. So get on over there, download iTunes even if you don’t plan on buying ;)
I’ve decided to start a new feature to my blog, Band Reviews. While becoming more obsessed with Myspace I’ve found some really awesome off-the-mainstream bands while viewing people’s profiles. I’d like to share some of them with you along with what I think. So basically, I’ll be linking their myspace profile where you can preview some of their work (even if you aren’t a member, great eh?) Also, the bands will be reviewed by my sister and I, to add more variety and viewpoints to the reviews.
Lara says…
Rilo Kiley has been playing non-stop in my car’s iPod for some time now, and I absolutely love them. Their latest album “More Adventerous” throws in an amazing amount of emotion to their sound and lyrics. Jenny Lewis, the lead singer of Rilo Kiley, offers an amazing experience through her explosive and soaring melodies, written with passion and heartbreak. The bands beginnings were humble enough; Lewis began with lightly picked acoustic pieces with “The Absence of God,” the first album… Selling shows out everywhere across the country, Rilo Kiley is a true Indie-Rock band ready to pop into your iPod and put you in a trance-like state.
Anna says…
Anna is lazy and needs to give me her review.

Anna loves from Always:
I should have known with a boy like you
Your middle name is always
I’d always love you
Ahhh, yeah
Lara loves from My Slumbering Heart:
In my dreams
I see you at the foot of some mountains.
And we’re taking some pictures or something
And we’d better hurry up
And it’s late and
The sun keeps on shooting through pine trees
And the grass stains are wet on your new jeans
And we’d better hurry up
And I’ve become just like a terrible mess
Searching the lines in my face for
Something more beautiful than is there
The crowds keep me coming back. Cheering.
Apple CEO Steve Jobs introduced Motorola’s new music-playing cell phone this past Wednesday at the Apple press conference in San Francisco.
Apple’s new cell phone will be “the next generation of Swiss Army Knife cell phones,” said Mitch Mitchell, an A.T. Kearney vice president. Configured to operate on the Cingular Wirless network, the revolutionary phone combines functions of Apple’s famous iPod and the basic utilities of a regular cell phone.
Motorola earlier announced plans for the new phone, but retracted the statement at the request of Apple who traditionally announces new products soon before they are available in stores instead of months in advance.
Mobile phone-makers including Nokia, Sony Erricsson and Samsung have already announced or introduced mp3 playing cell phones, but Motorola’s is the first to tote Apple’s pioneering iTunes format.
Analysts expect music phones to take on the same path that camera phones have taken in the past year, which now account for about half of cell phones sold in the United States. “The first wave [of music phones] will go to folks who have to have the latest gadget,” said Mitchell. “It’ll be similar to camera phones. Over the next 18 to 24 months, as volume grows and prices fall, they’ll become widespread.”
Motorola has enjoyed a recent resurgence in cell phone sales with their popular and ultra-thin Razr phone. “Clearly, Motorola is really coming back to its roots as an industry innovator,” said Rene Link, vice president at inCode, a wireless industry consultancy. “For a while, they’d lost the innovation lead to Nokia, but with the Razr phone, they regained it, and this iTunes phone keeps them in the lead.”
Although Motorola’s future with their new mp3 phone seems great, the same can not necessarily be said for wireless carrier Cingular. The new phone will allow customers to bypass the Cingular network by downloading music to their phones directly from their home computers. Additionally, music phones will not promote more network usage without an option to send music to other network subscribers.
I just installed TheDesired.NET’s very own Radio Blog! I decided to put it in a pop up, firstly for those who just don’t want the music, and also, every time you change the page the music won’t reset. :p
All of the music on my Radio Blog is streamed directly off of TheDesired.NET. I will be adding all my mp3’s as soon as I can convert them to the special format for streaming.
Right now I just have some stuff on there like, some music from Oh Brother Where Art Thou? to an awesome Benny Benasi song, Satisfaction. I am also going to put on there B. Spear’s new song Mona Lisa. It takes a few times to like it…. hahaha.
You can pop the player here, or on the side bar. Enjoy!
It’s not my totally new favorite song, I just think it is awesomely catchy!
The Features’ ‘Blow it Out’ is a happy go lucky song… absolutley great for a person like me, haha. There’s that child’s song, that goes “If you’re happy and you know it…” haha, well this one goes “If you’re happy and you know it, turn the volume up and blow it out!” I love it! The background music sounds like someone is humming. Check it out!
I got this song for free on iTunes when I registered my mini. :-D 13 free songs! What fun haha. I looked up The Features on google and found out they were some Indie rockish group. I haven’t had a chance to download any of their other songs, but I am sure they are great too. Anyone ever hear of them?
Don’t take my word for it, go download it!
