Who thinks these things up?

advertisement.gifI saw this advertisement on a news site today while I was reading an article. Who thinks these kinds of ads up? And secondly – who would click on something like this? It’s a little strange, don’t you think?

As you may have noticed – I switched back the theme to my old “Save a yellow rose” theme. I wanted to help bring in the Spring season, but I’m just swamped at work and couldn’t get a new design done for myself. However, have no fear! I will hopefully be revising an old idea I had and launching that soon.

Internet Explorer 7 Released

microsoft-internet_explorer-firefoxphishing_nfn.jpgSo the super duper, supposed to be fantastic, fix-it-all Internet Explorer 7 was released yesterday (granted it does fix A LOT). Within the last 24 hours there have been reports of crashes and information disclosure vulnerability. Granted this IS a beta release, however… it’s MS IE… what did you expect?

Chuckle, chuckle. Laugh, laugh. Haha.

All things aside, this means a lot of work for me. “Why?” you say? Well let me tell you a little story: The wonderful people at Microsoft decided they wanted to be different… to be special… to NOT follow the W3C (logical) standards of CSS. It was that day that Internet Explorer was born. For every version up until now, massive amounts of display issues would surface once one coded the style (or display) information for a design. So because IE decided they wanted to be “cool” and stand from the crowd, I’ve had to insert a special little “hack” everytime I created a website.

Well now that’s gone – since the people over there finally decided to actually listen to anyone – now I need to go back to EVERY website I’ve created and “fix” that little hack… along with the plethora of other new display problems.

So what does this all mean? Go Firefox. It’s free and doesn’t make you want to pull your hair out. *thumbs up*

Push-Pop Pushes No More

Push-pop crazy flavors!Do you remember when you’d go to the drugstore with your mother and you’d pick up a push-pop from the tray on the counter? My favorite flavor was definitely Strawberry. A child would peel off the clear wrapping with yellow writing on the top and pop off the cap. One would then proceed to push the lolli-pop out of the cannister throught the base with a finger.

Sacriledge! The push-pop pushes no more! The candy has now employed a spring to do the dirty work. Little do they understand that licking your finger after you finish the candy is part of the entire push-pop experience! Additionally, it’s icreasingly hard to just find “strawberry” or “cherry.” Now kids have to choose for a selection entirely too large from “Super cotton candy crazy blueberry shock” to “Punch in your face lemon icer.” (P.S. I made those up.)

Ooooh the horror! Where has the real candy gone? What do you think of these changes?

In other news my shift key is getting stuck in the worst moments.
Me: Hey, whats up?
Friend: Not much, you?
Me: I”M FINE

Now it’s All Worthwhile!

Bruce WillisBruce Willis is such a “die-hard patriot” that he’s offering $1,000,000 to any civilian who catches Osama bin Laden, Ayman al-Zawahiri or Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. He announced this today on a day-time talk show, Rita Cosby: Live and Direct.

Alright now, here’s a little rant: Honestly, is Bruce just looking for some publicity? Does he think these terror “kingpins” will be caught any quicker now? Notice the offer isn’t extended towards soldiers.. well that’s great. We’re going to have crazy people running out to the Middle East is it? I feel that Willis is just trying to point a sign of respect towards himself because he was so tooled over by that “teenager” Ashton Kutcher.

He also went on to say, “I am baffled to understand why the things that I saw happening in Iraq, really good things happening in Iraq, are not being reported on.” Well I can give you the answer to THAT one Mr. Willis. I thought you were a little smarter than that? It’s because our lovely mainstream media refuses to report on anything that would bring good light to our dear President.

Additionally, this little bit of info balances out my rant… “Willis also revealed he was in talks to make a movie about the Deuce Four, the soldiers whose heroic exploits have been chronicled by embedded blogger Michael Yon. ” This statement preceded his inquiry about the media coverage. As for a movie on something like this, about the good and successful things that happen in Iraq, I think it is great a big star wants to get out and spend some money on a thing like this. We need someone to oppose and balance out the already biased media and movies. GO BRUCE!

Take This PETA!

Well, the people over at PETA have a lot of explaining to do. Two employees of the extremist group have been charged with animal cruelty after dumping dead dogs and cats in a shopping center garbage bin! Here’s more of the article form FOX

Investigators staked out the bin after discovering that dead animals had been dumped there every Wednesday for the past four weeks, [...] PETA has scheduled a news conference for Friday in Norfolk, Va., where the group is based.

Police found 18 dead animals in the bin and 13 more in a van registered to PETA. The animals were from animal shelters in Northampton and Bertie counties, police said.

The two were picking up animals to be brought back to PETA headquarters for euthanization, PETA president Ingrid Newkirk (search) said Thursday. Neither police nor PETA offered any theory on why the animals might have been dumped.

This explains how exactly they make those outrageous videos on displayed on their website. They pick up dying animals, take their sick videos, and then dump ‘em. Simply pathetic. We’ll see what kind of explaining they do.

Disgusting

MJ made the claim that the jury’s verdict was ranked with the fall of the Berlin Wall and the birth of Martin Luther King.

The website opens solemnly with the word “Innocent” displayed in black and white as triumphal orchestral music plays.

A V for victory sign pops up, before dissolving into a montage of photos of Jackson and fans as the phrases “vindication”, “victory” and “The truth runs marathons”, scroll across the screen.

A pop chorus swells as the images move and the site shows a series of significant dates, including the birth of Martin Luther King, the fall of the Berlin Wall and the release of Nelson Mandela.

“Remember this date, for it is a part of HIStory,” says the site, http://mjjsource.com, which the 46-year-old singer set up to provide information during his trial. Source.

This makes me sick. Go to http://mjjsource.com/ to check this ridiculous thing out. Likening his jury’s verdict to THE FALL OF THE BERLIN WALL?! The flash intro not only includes a series of photos of himself, but of himself at Neverland Ranch, with CHILDREN singing in the background. Have you learned anything from this experience Michael?

I think it is absolutly ridiculous how his lawyers are trying to make this out to be some horrible evil scheme by the prosecutors. Just a few days ago, his lawyers stormed into the courthouse to demand the return of hundreds of items siezed from Neverland Ranch.

Judge Rodney Melville decided it was best to give back MJ’s passport (taken so he couldn’t flee the country.) The judge also said he has no plans to keep anything except items that would involve the privacy of a juror. Eloquently put,
“Mr. Jackson wants his stuff back,” declared Sanger, one of the lawyers

Among hundred of things that were taken from Jackson’s residence, there were some pornographic magazines with titles like Barely Legal that prosecutors had claimed Jackson used to “groom” his teen accuser into child abuse. Source.

I’m Really Not This Stupid

You won’t believe what I did this past Saturday. While stepping in the bathroom to take a shower, I saw my sister go to get on my computer. Immediately I run over and demand what she is doing, “I’m just going on AIM!” Me and my immature self (haha only sometimes) proceeded to yank away the keyboard and demand she get up. Upon her refusal, I thought that “I’d show her!” and change the password on my Windows XP account. I took away the other accounts, and changed the password to something she didn’t know. Then I pressed the power button, and walked away amidst her whining.

So I was in the shower all nice and showering…haha… and then I remember halfway through my 30-minute washing experience that I changed the password to my computer… to something… I couldn’t remember what.

I had a few in my head, and figured it HAD to be one of those. I got out of the shower and typed in the password…. every single one, to no avail. Feeling royally screwed I got dressed and went off to dance to try and stop thinking about it.

Of course it didn’t come to me, but I was quick to find today a website that offered decryption of your passwords for free. Yay! I popped in a floppy to my computer, it did its thang, and then I uploaded the certain file to the site for decryption (about 4 hours long.) I got the password back and it was ‘pieme’ something I had entirely pulled out of my ass.

I’ve got to be a little smarter next time.

Another Short Post

… Still sick. :( I pulled a stomach muscle coughing so hard, haha; how horrible is that?! :indifferent:

Thank you, thank you, thank you, for all the wonderful feedback from the new LadaDesigns.com design. I made the main background NOT white, but a nice grid like blue. Check it out >> http://www.LadaDesigns.com! I added the home page, and nothing else. I’m going to be rebuilding it from the ground up… again. We’ll see how quickly that gets done, hopefully by the end of this month.

I watched the movie The Sound of Music and I had forgotten how lovely that movie is. Have any of you watched it? Don’t you think it’s enchanting!

Went out to the store today to pick up some V-Day cards. :liefde:All you silly people hate the hallmark holiday, I love it. Maybe I’m a bit biased because I have the perfect Valentine. ;) :heartbeat: :hearts:

Life is Unfair

I just typed finished up a six page math report with excel graphs and everything… then I lost a full two pages of it. It’s 11:30 :tired: and I can’t do anything about it really. Thankfully, the teacher is quite nice, and will most definitley give me an extension. Wooohoo, onto the two quizzes I have to study for that are tomorrow.

What did I do to deserve this?:indifferent:
