Here Comes Vista!

vista3.pngThe new Windows Vista has finally been released. For all you Mac”ers” out there… you best keep your eyes open while you sleep.

Why do I have so much faith in the new Windows? Traditionally, the interface and overall presentation of Apple computers and products have always beat out Windows. Granted, Window’s doesn’t produce computers like Apple does, but it won’t take you long to find someone that will tell you the Mac OSX just “looks” cooler.

But now, we can put that aspect of the Mac to shame. Behold leather bound laptops and shiny buttons: Windows has finally fully stepped out of the box and have realized exactly what people are looking for: Snazziness. Sleek looking text. Windows that scroll and appear in 3D. A little widget that pops up telling me the weather (when and where I want it… with no ads). I give you: Vista.

vista1.jpgThe new Windows is easier, safer, more entertaining, and more connected. Sure I pulled that right off their promotional website… but it’s time that Mac steps off their monopoly on all things shiny.

So I pose this question to the AVERAGE computer user: If you had to choose between the Windows XP and Mac OSX, which would you choose?

vista2.pngThen compare the snazziness factor of each.Windows Vista or MacOSX?

And please don’t forget their beautiful blog.

So… my official opinion? I’ll let you know when I’ve actually tried it out; I’m sending my desktop out next week for a new hard drive and upgrade.

White Ninja Power!

White ninja! The White Ninja Comics should be a staple in everyone’s daily reading… even if you don’t do any of it at all. The comics are wonderfully random, and will make you giggle like a little girl. From his adventures with a severed head, to turtles trying to mooch cigs off of him , white ninja does it all!

Take a look at their witty intro:

What is ‘White Ninja Comics’?

White Ninja Comics are not for the weak of mind. They are a brilliant satirical commentary on controversial worldly issues.

They can be enjoyed on many levels. Scholars, Philosophers, and the like, who possess the intellect to analyze and break down the comics to their hidden, and often devious, roots, will enjoy White Ninja to its fullest degree. Others, like you and I, however, can still enjoy the comics for their light-hearted surface humour and funny drawings.

If ya’ll didn’t notice, I added the “about” page back again, right underneath my bio to the right. I guess it was rather diguised before ;) I might add a menu back with content again, but we’ll see what I feel like doing. Also, I added the archived snapshots back. :P fun!

New Favorite Song

It’s not my totally new favorite song, I just think it is awesomely catchy!

The Features’ ‘Blow it Out’ is a happy go lucky song… absolutley great for a person like me, haha. There’s that child’s song, that goes “If you’re happy and you know it…” haha, well this one goes “If you’re happy and you know it, turn the volume up and blow it out!” I love it! The background music sounds like someone is humming. Check it out!

I got this song for free on iTunes when I registered my mini. :-D 13 free songs! What fun haha. I looked up The Features on google and found out they were some Indie rockish group. I haven’t had a chance to download any of their other songs, but I am sure they are great too. Anyone ever hear of them?

Don’t take my word for it, go download it!

Big over the Break

iPod!Two things that were amazingly popular over the break: Napoleon Dynamite, and iPods

Napoleon Dynamite
“You know, there’s like a butt-load of gangs at this school. This one gang kept wanting me to join because I’m pretty good with a bowstaff. “ Everyone is quoting the movie, and why not?! This movie has to be the funniest most ridiculous movie out there. You can watch it 10 times over and you won’t get bored of it! The entire plot line, or lack thereof, is just excellent.

iPods
Everyone! Everyone got an iPod for Christmas over break if they didn’t have one before… I come back to school and that’s all I see, and I hear Napoleon Dynamite quotes too haha.

Haven’t bought or watched either of the two above? Go do it now! GOSH!

and… of course more quotes for your laughing pleasure ;)

Napoleon Dynamite: What kind of bike do you have?
Pedro: It’s a sledgehammer.
Napoleon Dynamite: Dang! You got shocks, pegs… lucky! You ever take it off any sweet jumps?
Napoleon Dynamite: [Cut to Pedro jumping] You got like three feet of air that time.

Deb: What are you drawing?
Napoleon Dynamite: A liger.
Deb: What’s a liger?
Napoleon Dynamite: It’s pretty much my favorite animal. It’s like a lion and a tiger mixed… bred for its skills in magic.

Napoleon Dynamite: [drinks glass of milk] The defect in that one is bleach.
FFA Judge No. 1: That’s right.
Napoleon Dynamite: Yessssssssss.
Napoleon Dynamite: [drinks second glass of milk] This tastes like the cow got into an onion patch.
FFA Judge No. 2: Correct.
Napoleon Dynamite: Yessssssssss.

Napoleon Dynamite: [referring to the dance] Who are you gonna ask?
Pedro: That girl over there.
Napoleon Dynamite: Summer Wheatly? How the heck are you gonna do that?
Pedro: Build her a cake or somesing.

Nathan: Napoleon, give me some of your tots.
Napoleon Dynamite: No, go find your own.
Nathan: Come on, give me some of your tots.
Napoleon Dynamite: No, I’m freakin’ starving! I didn’t get to eat anything today.
Nathan: [kicks the tots]
Napoleon Dynamite: Ugh! Gross! Freakin’ idiot!

Napoleon Dynamite: Hey can I use your guys’s phone for a sec?
Secretary No. 1: Is there anything wrong?
Napoleon Dynamite: I don’t feel very good.
[takes telephone and dials number]
Kip: [making nachos on the other line] Hi.
Napoleon Dynamite: Is grandma there?
Kip: No, she’s getting her hair done.
Napoleon Dynamite: Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh…
Kip: What do you need?Napoleon Dynamite!
Napoleon Dynamite: Can you just go get her for me?
Kip: I’m really busy right now.
Napoleon Dynamite: Just tell her to come get me.
Kip: Why?
Napoleon Dynamite: Cause I don’t feel good!
Kip: Well, have you talked to the school nurse?
Napoleon Dynamite: No, she doesn’t know anything. Will you just come get me?
Kip: No.
Napoleon Dynamite: Well, will you do me a favor then? Can you bring me my chapstick?
Kip: No, Napoleon.
Napoleon Dynamite: But my lips hurt real bad!
Kip: Just borrow some from the school nurse. I know she has like five sticks in her drawer.
Napoleon Dynamite: I’m not gonna use hers, you sicko!
Kip: See ya.
Napoleon Dynamite: Ugh! Idiot!

Become an Elitist

Fire Fox 1.0!Ohhhh, Ohh, well I’ve got something better than windows; I’ve got a Mac! -or- the classic Ipod over the ever so “generic” other mp3 players…. hmmm I’m seeing a trend here with apple.

Anyways, I was speaking with my Multimedia teacher today, after class had ended, and I suggested that she download Fire Fox from Mozilla over the ever-popular IE of Windows. My fellow T.A. (teacher’s assistant) quickly interrupted, piping in that Fire Fox was among the things people use only for their title, and to be labeled as different, there for unique, there for “I’m better than you.”

Well let me tell you: I too have become an elitist, and unlike many elitist things, this name brand actually has a few unique things about it…. or sort of. I enjoin you all to download Fire Fox 1.0, which recently came out with its first “whole number version”: 1.0 (guaranteeing fewer errors.) Among the perks, Fire Fox 1.0 boasts:

Tabbed Web Browsing: Allowing for less clutter on your programs bar, letting you view as many different webpages you want within one window.
“Pause-ible” Downloads: Not only does Fire Fox let you pause your downloads, but if you are kicked offline for some reason while the download is in progress, Fire Fox will start right where you left off as soon as you sign back online!
Clean Cut Design: There’s not crap to fill up your tool bars, just your favorites lists in a “quick-click” manner at the top.
Top Notch Security Fire Fox 1.0 contains a pop up blocker that actually works, additionally making it easy to allow certain websites to show popups with a click of a button. Fire Fox will tell you when ever information you are sending off of a webpage may be placed in the wrong hands… etc. I really don’t pay attention to this security stuff… but it’s got a lot of it. haha
Extremely Helpful: If you are viewing a webpage, and you don’t have a certain plug in needed to view the page (say Flash) Fire Fox will offer you a quick link to a webpage where you can download the plug in… not making you search for it! Excellent!
Shall I mention that Fire Fox has been acclaimed by numerous news organizations:

The wait is over. Get Firefox 1.0, the faster, better web browser. Now available in 14 languages, for Windows, MacOS X and Linux. “I suggest dumping Microsoft’s Internet Explorer” — Walt Mossberg, Wall Street Journal.

I don’t think you need much more convincing: Click here!

Okay, go back to your name brands now.
