My Christmas Reflection Entry

I was trying to avoid this. Maybe boredom has overcome me. Here goes:

Christmas was lovely :) I ditched school on Thursday, and we went into the city that night for a nice evening of fun. The Plaza hotel is amazing; I just like the classiness of it all. Diamond shops in the lobby!? Now that’s my kind of hotel ;) The performance of the The Nutcracker by ABT was a little higher than mediocre… I expect a bajillion times better than the best when I’m paying $90 for a second row seat! It was great finally having seats where you can see the dancer’s faces… and then I realized something: Ballet dancers have no character! The company members were devoid of ANY emotion! Nothing! Maybe there was a smile from one or two! But the kids, they were great. Snooty ass ballet dancers…. I saw those imperfect lines! Hahaha.

We headed back to the hotel for a nice late evening dinner. I strolled into the classy Oak-Room with my designer jeans on… hahahaha. Everyone was in evening gowns. I, though, decided it was time for my dress to come off. Who cares? Dinner was great, and $500 too…. :O !

Hotel mini bars are amazing! Amazing! No where else, is it physically possible to spend $6 on a snickers bar. No where! All in all, our annual stay in the capital of the world was most enjoyable!

Christmas Eve was cute, I must say. It was my mom’s side of the family. Considering my dad doesn’t have much he still cares to converse with. Christmas carols were sung, and cheap $5 shrimp platters where eaten.

Christmas morning… oh the joy of waking up early after being on the phone till the early morning ;) I love you Christian. :-D I woke up rather tired… got some nice things, such as: Pink: Cashmere sweater, fur scarf, another argyle belt, cashmere hoodie thing, snake skin purse, cute 50’s looking purse. Yes! All pink! My father got me an AWESOME digital camera. I’ll post some pictures on here taken with that camera. It’s so amazing and professional. Nikon… haha I think my dad just got it for himself because all of his lenses for his regular Nikon fit this one ;) Lucky him. He also got me a fur coat :X I unno if I like it so much tho. It’s full length :-/ not very stylish. My mom also got me some very cute earrings from St. Marc’s Place. Verrrry cute. :-D

Since then I have been sitting on my ass all day… woohooo. I diffidently have to go shopping tomorrow. It’s a must.

Christmas Cheer

Oh Christmas tree!My mother and I decorated the tree on Friday night! It was a lot of fun looking at all the macaroni ornaments we made in pre school and such. They’re so old! Haha. I will finally be getting the mall today to do some shopping for everyone. I tend to leave things to the last minute.

We got a Christmas stocking for the kitties :P It is filled with all this cute stuff. I saw it in the super market so I said why not?

I finally fixed my computer, (which was ‘broken’) I thought I had blown the power supply, but in actuality, the plug was just not pushed in far enough into the mother board. :-/ And, I don’t know how it got loose! I could have sworn that I had checked that before. I realized this as I was pulling out all the power plugs from everything. The mother board plug came out too easy, so I pushed it back in and turned the switch and it went on! WoooHoooO!

This means I’ll be revamping LadaDesigns.com! There is a lot of work to be done with both of these websites. Everything is going to have a more professional feel. I created one layout for my design site, but I’m afraid that it’s not professional enough. We’ll see what I will be able to work out.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

It’s Beginning to Look a lot like Christmas!

Cookies!Cookies!
I really enjoy Christmas time! I just love buying, and shopping, cooking, and decorating for the holiday! Besides the materialistic part of it, I think it’s a great time to show people you care… plus it gives me a two week break! What’s not to love?

Rawr

[edit]The entire concert was quite nice to say the least. A little long… but maybe that’s because I only got four hours of sleep last night. The singers were beautiful, altho the violin department was lacking. I was surprised to see so many people I knew in the choir. It was a nice night, and my bitching was uncalled for :P [/edit]

Gag me with a SPOON! Anything to save me from the horribly fate I am now to fulfill… the sister’s choir concert at some church. Oh the bore. God knows I’m going to hell for today partly because I couldn’t help myself from grinning during a moment of silence through out the school for our dead principal…(you’d have to understand the silly circumstances)… may he rest in peace.

The pain in my legs is starting to dissipate in my legs now… this is good. Although, when I get up right after the end of a class I can definitely feel the pain. Oh the joy!

Ouch!

My muscles are killing me from this past week due to an intense start to classes in dance. Since Thursday, my legs have been giving out randomly, and and after Saturday class they weren’t very happy at all. haha. After ballet ended at 10:00, we headed on over to Kiev on 7th street and had some dinner after waiting way too long for it! … let me tell you, after working your legs that hard for five hours straight, sitting down for 2 hours is not a good idea at all. I had to limp out of the place… but the dinner was good!

Morning Smile

I wake up in the morning,
Smile just because you’re you,
I’ll look outside at the bright sky,
And remember how I fell in love with you.
Your love over comes me with happiness,
I’ll just smile and stare,
Because I know that our day will come,
When I can look and see you there.

Fashion of the 40’s

A classy 1940's lady!Glitz, glam, pearls and high heels. Cut out toes, and furs… 2004 is the 40’s. It is great to finally see the tacky “show as much skin as possible” look go out the window. Even Abercrombie is marketing new looks, and longer skirts! (Thank you!)

Fur coats, jackets and shawls have always given the look of a million bucks. Wear a fur piece, and you know you can walk with that extra little edge of classiness. What a throw in the face to PETA. I’m glad this radical group has the fashion world firing back at them. Maybe they’ll cry and ask where they went wrong. Additionally, it is really quite easy to get fake furs that look real. If you don’t want to spend the money on a genuine fox lined jacket, many department stores offer cheaper polyester “remakes” that look like the real thing. Of course when you touch it, it just will not feel the same.

An excellent broach to glam up an outfit!Pearls and extravagant jewels, why not wear your money on your neck like the cosmopolitan ladies of the 40’s? Pull out your grandma’s old costume jewelry and broaches, they’re all too back in style! Glam up a simple corduroy jacket with 4 completely different broaches on the fold of your collar. ‘Cut out toe’ shoes with high heels are quite trendy, along with the ‘pointy-toe’ look. Classy shoes make any outfit look glamorous… almost.

Remember: This look is definitely not about the brand names! The more exclusive and unique your clothing items get, the classier you will look. If you have got money flaunt it, but work with what you have got! Stray away from blatantly designer wear. (Your brown Louis Vuitton bag!) And throw out those trashy UGG boots and wear real shoes… the kind that created the saying, “Beauty is pain!”
