Driving!

I'm going driving!Oh yea, guess what Lara is doing tomorrow?!

Finally, I’ve gotten my butt around to go and take the test and start my 6 hours of state mandated driving to get my liscence. But first, I’ve got to take this written :book: test. If I pass it, then I’ll be able to drive home. Hahahaha…. the thought of ME driving is scary. What if I get stuck between to 18 wheeler trucks?

Oh the horror!

I’m trying hard not to think about it, and I’m probably being silly. But another thing that scares me is this: Driving the hour to the DMV and back with a scary man I don’t know. As I said to one of my friends, “What if he decides to tie me up and drive me off to Alabama?!”

I really wished I didn’t live in this state, just for this reason. But alas, New Jersey has the worst drivers in the country, wait – make that the world! :blah:

I need to calm down so I can concentrate in school tomorrow haha. :relieved:

Medicine for the Soul

The past few days, I felt like my heart was lacking something. I didn’t know what it was, I didn’t know what was wrong. It didn’t make me feel depressed or anything, it was just the hanging gloom above me. Actually nothing of my outward appearance or mood to other people had changed, I just felt like something was wrong. It isn’t something I can explain, but maybe you’ve felt it before. You feel like you’re doing something wrong but your not. You feel like the worst part of your life has just set upon you, but not so drastic.

I thought of myself as silly, that I had just had a lack of sleep and was feeling down. I wasn’t even feeling depressed, just certain moments of the day were horrible.

So I was just sitting her and I clicked open iTunes because I had to read some of this book for English, and I put on a favorite classical piece of mine, and all of a sudden I felt amazing again. Music is what has been lacking from my mind the past few days. I’m not sure why I haven’t taken out my iPod and listened to some music to calm me, maybe I’ve been busy. But, an overwhelming feeling of happiness and peace came upon me, and I realized why I had felt the way I had.

Amazing how music can touch your soul, isn’t it?

I’m Really Not This Stupid

You won’t believe what I did this past Saturday. While stepping in the bathroom to take a shower, I saw my sister go to get on my computer. Immediately I run over and demand what she is doing, “I’m just going on AIM!” Me and my immature self (haha only sometimes) proceeded to yank away the keyboard and demand she get up. Upon her refusal, I thought that “I’d show her!” and change the password on my Windows XP account. I took away the other accounts, and changed the password to something she didn’t know. Then I pressed the power button, and walked away amidst her whining.

So I was in the shower all nice and showering…haha… and then I remember halfway through my 30-minute washing experience that I changed the password to my computer… to something… I couldn’t remember what.

I had a few in my head, and figured it HAD to be one of those. I got out of the shower and typed in the password…. every single one, to no avail. Feeling royally screwed I got dressed and went off to dance to try and stop thinking about it.

Of course it didn’t come to me, but I was quick to find today a website that offered decryption of your passwords for free. Yay! I popped in a floppy to my computer, it did its thang, and then I uploaded the certain file to the site for decryption (about 4 hours long.) I got the password back and it was ‘pieme’ something I had entirely pulled out of my ass.

I’ve got to be a little smarter next time.

Another Short Post

… Still sick. :( I pulled a stomach muscle coughing so hard, haha; how horrible is that?! :indifferent:

Thank you, thank you, thank you, for all the wonderful feedback from the new LadaDesigns.com design. I made the main background NOT white, but a nice grid like blue. Check it out >> http://www.LadaDesigns.com! I added the home page, and nothing else. I’m going to be rebuilding it from the ground up… again. We’ll see how quickly that gets done, hopefully by the end of this month.

I watched the movie The Sound of Music and I had forgotten how lovely that movie is. Have any of you watched it? Don’t you think it’s enchanting!

Went out to the store today to pick up some V-Day cards. :liefde:All you silly people hate the hallmark holiday, I love it. Maybe I’m a bit biased because I have the perfect Valentine. ;) :heartbeat: :hearts:

Need Some Feedback

I need some feedback on this piece of work:
http://ladadesigns.com/design.htm
It’s for LadaDesigns.com… I’m finally going to get that website back off the groud… really this time.

I have a hard time getting into designs that aren’t over the top in some sort of way. I had to keep this one toned down; I know it isn’t the best of my work but I made it keeping everyone in mind.

By the way I’m sick :( I came down with something Saturday night, and since then I’ve been sitting around and not going to school. Blehhhhh

And thankyou all for the compliments about my deb. :)

Chervona Kalyna Debutante

Christian helping me with my gloves! What an amazing weekend! This past weekend, I took part in the Chervona Kalyna Debutante Ball, or cotillion. What is a debutante you ask? Well, it’s sort of a “comming of age” dance ball. Everyone gets dressed up extremely fancy, and watched the presentation of the debutantes, who all wear white ball gowns, long gloves, and hold flowers. Around ten girls take part in a “deb” at once, and you’re usually 16 when you take part in one. Debutantes are hosted through certain communities. Ukrainians happen to be really big on “debbing” so I did mine through a Ukrainian society. My escort was Christian, who is also Ukrainian. :-D

Practicing! On Friday I took the day off from school to get my nails done, and sleep in. That afternoon I went with my mom and my dad to pick up Christian at the hotel; they had to drive around 5 hours to come down here. Then we all headed into New York City for the rehersal. (After the formal presentation and bowing of the debutantes, there is a little “minuette” of sorts.) We shopped around St. Marks for a bit, then headed over to 2nd Ave. to the Plast Headquarters for rehersal. Haha, what a bore. The night was night tho, went shopping a bit more and then had dinner at Kiev. Oh the memories ;)

The bow!Saturday was crraazzy… Haha I had to wake up at 8 am to get my hair done at 9. We came home, packed, and headed right off to the hotel. All of us had rehersal again at around 12, which actually started at like 2. Haha, forget about starting things actually on time! Christian and I hung out for a bit after the rehersal, and then I got dressed. So Christian comes to get me looking all cute in his tux, and then I realize my mom had forgotten my gloves! All the debutantes need to wear long white gloves, it adds a very formal touch to it. I was going crazy, and then finally I found another deb that had an extra pair. Haha, thank god.

The night was amazing and filled with lots of fun. Thanks to all who came! SO many memories.

I will be posting a photo album of the entire deb soon, once I get the proffesional pictures back.
