I hope everyone has a happy labor day weekend here in the U.S.A. I know all of us Ukrainians sure will at our favorite resort, Soyuzivka. Be back Monday night!

Pluto is a planet no more. The IAU classified the ex-planet as a “dwarf planet,” during it’s 2006 General Assembly. From AP, CNN:
Much-maligned Pluto doesn’t make the grade under the new rules for a planet: “a celestial body that is in orbit around the sun, has sufficient mass for its self-gravity to overcome rigid body forces so that it assumes a … nearly round shape, and has cleared the neighborhood around its orbit.”
Pluto is automatically disqualified because its oblong orbit overlaps with Neptune’s.
Instead, it will be reclassified in a new category of “dwarf planets,” similar to what long have been termed “minor planets.” The definition also lays out a third class of lesser objects that orbit the sun — “small solar system bodies,” a term that will apply to numerous asteroids, comets and other natural satellites.
Pluto was discovered in 1930 by Clyde Tombaugh. Here’s an interesting tidbit from Wikipedia: Keep reading this »
I will be taking a brief break from the internet for two weeks while I am away from home. I am going to be a counselor for RPB’s Ukrainian Dance Camp. It should be a fun two weeks and I’ll be back home soon with some pictures to post. I’m basically back for the summer, except for a short visit to Wildwood and then Labor day yet to come. I have loads of work lined up from school to web design, so I’m glad to get back into the normal routine. Want to see some pictures from my adventures of the summer? Take a look at my facebook. I’ll also be adding the photos to webshots if you don’t have FB. : )
Listen as you read to Corinne Bailey Rae’s ‘Put Your Records On.’
Corinne Bailey Rae carries a smooth soulful sound throughout her songs. The enchanting melodies and lyrics keep the listener captivated on exactly what Rae has to say. Anyone can tell her songs come from the heart. The young woman began singing in her Gospel church at a young age and soon began to broaden her horizons by picking up the electric guitar. One of her main inspirations was Led Zepplin; inspired by the band, Corrine wanted to create her own music and thus her band Helen was formed. After receiving considerable attention, the band fragmented when the bassist became pregnant.
Shattered, Rae entered school to study English and spent her days studying and working as a coat-check in a local Jazz club. Some nights the bands would let her sing with them. It was then that her modern day sound was born. EMI signed her a little over a year ago and since then she has been making amazing appearances in the UK and the US.
Rae’s “Put Your Records On” is her most notable hit. The song is an inspirational call out to all women to be worry free to be happy with themselves and in turn everything will work out. “Butterfly” begins with a classic jazz saxophone sound off. The song continues in a deeper soulful way, much different from “Records.” “Like a Star” is a calming piece with a strong beat that sings of her conflicting, and then true, love.

Favorite Lyrics:
From Put Your Records On:
Maybe sometimes, we got it wrong, but it’s alright
The more things seem to change, the more they stay the same
Oh, don’t you hesitate.
Girl, put your records on, tell me your favourite song
You go ahead, let your hair down
Sapphire and faded jeans, I hope you get your dreams,
Just go ahead, let your hair down.
You’re gonna find yourself somewhere, somehow.
From Like a Star:
I wonder why it is,
I don’t argue like this,
With anyone but you,
I wonder why it is,
I wont let my guard down,
For anyone but you
We do it all the time,
Blowing out my mind,
Just like a star across my sky,
Just like an angel off the page,
You have appeared to my life,
Feel like I’ll never be the same,
Just like a song in my heart,
Just like oil on my hands
I have decided to release this theme tonight (or this morning?), because I am really excited about it. I spent a lot of time adding some unique features to this design (many of which I have picked up from other blogs I absolutely adore) and have come up with the theme entitled ‘Save a Yellow Rose.’
There are a few minor glitches still (CSS problems with IE – can anyone help?, Validation, RSS, & a few missing features for the sidebar) hence my hesitation on releasing it. Overall though, I really like it… I think this is my favorite design yet.
On top of it all I am experiencing computer trouble once again. Currently I have my hard drive hooked up to my sister’s computer. It should be sent away for work tomorrow morning.
Tell me what you think. : )
